One more time - Landscapes and Thread-painted Trees.

Hahn's Peak Triptych by Susan Smith, Shar Short and Heather Lundquist - DetailThere is a lot to love about today's quilt from the  Fiber Arts Fiesta, that took place in Albuquerque last month, Hahn's Peak Triptych by Susan Smith, Shar Short and Heather Lundquist.

To start, I loved those satin-stitched Aspen trees in the distance on this landscape quilt.

This quilt won first place in the Group Quilts category.   I would love to know more about what each of the three quilters did in this wonderful triptych of quilts.

(I wasn't able to take a square straight-on photo of many of the quilts in the show because they were so tightly packed into the exhibit space.)

Here are detail photos of the couched threads used and the quilting.

Easy to see why it's a blue ribbon quilt! So lovely.

Thanks for showing all these wonderful quilts! I am enjoying this series of posts as I did't make it to the show. Hope your move/job change is not too stressful. Are you still going to be in Santa Fe?
